With the PowerPoint audio, we want to look for Mental Imagery, Word Choice, Organization, Use of Graphics and Placement of Text, Preparation, Sincerity, Vocal Variety, the Beginning and Conclusion, Connection with Audience, Grammar, Correctness of Language, Appropriateness, Volume, Emphasis and Tone.
Stay objective. Do not comment on whether you agree with the ideas expressed by the speaker, only on the way that the speaker presented these ideas.
Consider using the "Sandwich Technique" for your evaluation. Start by listing several positive points. Next, list a couple of areas for improvement. Give specific examples and describe how those areas could be improved, in your opinion. Do not overwhelm the speaker, give no more than three areas for improvement. Conclude by providing positive feedback, congratulating the speaker, and encouraging them to give their next speech.
